Jay is a Senior Manager with our Worldtrade Management Services (WMS) practice in Taiwan. He advises on all aspects of the cross-border movement of goods, and is a specialist in customs valuation, export control, tariff classification, import taxes/duties (customs duty, anti-dumping duty, excise tax, etc.), dispute resolutions, and dealing with customs authorities.
Over the last few years, Jay has led and participated in several compliance reviews, large scale customs planning projects, and successfully helped many businesses in dealing with Customs on valuation and classification disputes.
In addition to customs issues, Jay has extensive experience and specialized knowledge in trade defence measures, non-tariff barrier to trade, and trade policy formation. He has been involved in various topics of WTO Doha negotiations, and successfully supported companies to deal with foreign anti-dumping investigations and lodge anti-dumping applications.
Before joining WMS, Jay worked for 3 years in a trade association where he gained considerable experience in international trade policy and practices. He also enjoyed good working relationships with various government agencies in Taiwan.
Jay holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Claremont Graduate University: Peter F. DruckerGraduate School of Management, U.S.. He is fluent in Chinese, English, and Taiwanese.
